At AYUSA, we believe the best way to experience another culture is by opening your heart and home to a young person from another country. When you host an AYUSA exchange student, your family and community gain the opportunity to learn about another culture while you obtain the chance to share your American values and traditions.

As a host family, you will become part of the worldwide AYUSA family, a proud leader in student exchange programs. AYUSA is a leader for many reasons:

AYUSA students are carefully selected – Only the best and brightest students can become AYUSA students. Students are evaluated for their grades, social and intellectual maturity, willingness to live in the United States, and leadership qualities. Every student is able to speak, read, and write in English.

AYUSA students come from over 75 different countries – We are proud to offer you a rich diversity of students between ages 15-18 years. Search our student profiles by age, nationality, religion and even personal interests!

We support our host families every step of the way – From student selection and school registration to academic and supportive counseling for each exchange student and host family, our network of local representatives is there to assist you.

Meet student who are excited to live with an American family just like yours! Inviting one of these students into your home provides ample opportunity for a warm and positive introduction to American life, culture, and values. The students have money for personal expenses, have health/accident insurance, speak English, and can share a room.

Former AYUSA students at Reynolds HS include Julie D. (Germany), Martin G. (Germany), Kawtar (Morocco), Vanja (Bosnia), Tobias H. (Germany), Tasha (Bosnia), Carolina (Colombia) and Kazf (Hong Kong). AYUSA students at Roberson HS include Bana (Israel), Takeshi (Japan), Irene (Spain), Sol (Korea) and Hege (Netherlands).
